Automation Technician Location:
Smithfield, Pennsylvania, United States At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As an Automation Technician, you'll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. The role:
As an Automation Technician, you will help drive our goals by:
  • Supporting the operation of automation control systems to maintain safe, reliable and efficient production
  • Troubleshooting and resolving control system and equipment issues with production and maintenance teams
  • Performing maintenance and adjustments on automated electrical equipment including PLCs, HMIs, drives and servo systems
  • Updating control systems documentation and supporting program modifications to improve performance
  • Working with external vendors to diagnose and resolve complex automation issues
  • Training colleagues on troubleshooting techniques and safe maintenance practices Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Experience with PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems and industrial automation in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including drives, control panels and power distribution
  • Ability to analyse faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems (ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000) and industrial networks is advantageous
