Guideline Geo Americas, Inc (www.guidelinegeo.com/product/reutech-mining-2/) is the North American and Central American distributor for Reutech Mining Ltd. (reutechmining.com). The primary product offered by Reutech through Guideline Geo is the MSR slope-stability radar systems. These systems are installed at many mine sites throughout North America and the world, and are critical for the monitoring of slopes within surface mine operations. The MSR systems require regular service and calibration by a factory trained technician to ensure continuous, uninterrupted operation within a true 24/7/365 operational envelope. Guideline Geo demonstrates strong consideration and concern for the safety of its highly skilled staff and provides access and support for staff to receive and maintain all appropriate health and safety certifications. Guideline Geo will provide a number of training programs including MSHA New Miner (surface, metal/non-metal, coal), First Aid CPR, and other site-specific safety training. Guideline Geo is seeking qualified persons to fill the Guideline Technician openings. The work will require technicians, after thorough internal training, to operate independently in the field. Successful candidates are motivated and committed and have a strong desire and interest to grow their career with Guideline Geo over the next 5-7 years or more. The position Guideline Geo is seeking is an entry level position for a skilled electro-mechanical technician and requires an aptitude in conducting field maintenance and repairs to integrated electronic and mechanical systems. The minimum qualifications for this position include: A.A, S in Electronic Engineering Knowledge of AC and DC systems Ability to read and understand schematics Experience with the use of electronics diagnostics tools and meters Clean Driving Record An understanding of, and experience with, software and software applications for personal computers, IT network infrastructure, Microsoft OS, Linux
OS, FTP, LAN, VPN, WI-FI, MI-FI
are considered valuable but not required. The candidate will be part of a fully remote and mobile team with its base in Tooele, Utah and with staff also in Golden, Colorado. The Guideline Technician will be required to provide and receive support to and from other factory-trained teammates located throughout the world. The operations and main warehouse for Guideline Geo's mining operations is based in Tooele, Utah.
Summary of additional responsibilities include:
  • Conduct self in a consistent professional manner, with a strong emphasis on personal health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others.
  • Respond to client support calls in a professional manner, with attention to details and an ability to translate client provided information, questions, and concerns into an effective summary for rapid dissemination to other Guideline Technicians and support personnel.
  • Perform regular maintenance and service to MSR systems using standard hand-tools (no power tools are permitted at client sites) and hand-held electronics and electrical test meters.
The Guideline Technician is responsible for performing regular maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of the MSR system(s). Scheduled maintenance is performed primarily during the regular work week (M-F). Occasional unscheduled maintenance and/or Emergency Services (ES) may require the Guideline Technician to visit a client site during his/her scheduled (rotating) on-call week, which may include contributions over the weekend. The technician will only be on-call for unscheduled visits a portion of each month.
  • Outdoors environment subject to extreme heat and cold conditions.
  • Dust and wind-borne particulates
  • Occasional lifting, up to 50 lbs, during installations and repairs
  • Repeated bending and kneeling to perform normal service and repairs
  • Use of ladders may be required
  • Driving up to 8 hours per day for mobilization to client sites
  • Perform under time restraints.
The schedule is flexible We are seeking to hire additional staff of various levels of experience including newly graduated technical students that will, ideally, be based in the Salt Lake City / Tooele metropolitan area. Compensation for the position will be based on skills and experience, and Guideline Geo is prepared to offer a competitive salary, including full benefits, to the right candidate.
