Position Summary The Automation Technician is a versatile, multi-skilled hands-on role supporting ATTS automotive automation projects in the United States, with an initial focus on the Scout Motors project in South Carolina. The technician is expected to work across the full range of on-site automation activities - operating and following production lines, running robot cells (including robot operation, jogging and teaching under authorization), operating HMI, supporting PLC and controls, and assisting with commissioning and troubleshooting - so that automated equipment keeps producing quality parts on schedule. This is a technician-level position for a candidate with an industrial, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or production automation background who is willing and able to develop broad automation capability rather than a single specialty. During an initial development period of approximately 6 months, the employee works on real on-site activities while receiving supervised training and technical guidance from the Automation Team Leader and ATTS engineers, including remote support from ATTS engineering teams in Vietnam when applicable. As capability increases, the technician takes on more stations and cells, more robot/HMI/PLC tasks, and greater troubleshooting responsibility across the automation system.

Main Responsibilities Operate assigned stations and run automated production lines and robot cells safely and reliably, keeping equipment running at the required rate and quality. Perform routine start-up, shutdown, and changeover of stations, lines, and cells as instructed and authorized. Perform robot operation, jogging, and teaching, and run or modify robot programs (including OLP where applicable), within authorization limits and under the guidance of the Automation Team Leader and ATTS engineers. Operate HMI to monitor machine, station, and cell status, read alarms and messages, and perform reset or recovery steps when instructed. Follow the line and cells closely - watch part flow, sequence, and cycle time - to spot abnormal conditions early and keep production moving. Respond first to minor stoppages and alarms and perform first-level troubleshooting across line, robot, and controls, then verify results. Support PLC and controls tasks such as I/O checks, sensor and signal verification, and control-related documentation, under engineer guidance. Support commissioning, dry runs, trial builds, and changeovers for lines, stations, and robot cells together with ATTS engineers. Support basic electrical wiring and connections, and read and check electrical drawings when needed, within authorization limits. Escalate issues beyond authorization and coordinate with the Automation Team Leader and ATTS engineers, including remote support from teams in Vietnam; keep simple production and shift-handover records and follow all safety, quality, and confidentiality rules. 3. Required Qualifications and Capabilities 1 - 2 years of technical experience in industrial, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, production automation, or a related field, with a hands-on, multi-skilled approach. Ability and willingness to operate and support automated production equipment, including production lines, robot cells, HMI systems, and basic controls, while monitoring equipment and station status and following work instructions. Ability or willingness to perform basic robot operation, jogging, teaching, HMI operation, first-level troubleshooting, and commissioning activities under appropriate authorization and supervision. Ability to read and understand basic work instructions, equipment labels, HMI messages, electrical drawings, schematics, and control information, and to accurately document equipment issues and work performed. Ability to support basic electrical wiring, connections, equipment installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required. Strong commitment to workplace safety and ability to comply with customer site requirements, robot-cell safety rules, ATTS procedures, and applicable safety standards. Reliable attendance, punctuality, professionalism, adaptability, and willingness to work shifts, overtime, travel, and on-site production schedules as required by project needs. Ability to work effectively with the Automation Team Leader, engineers, technicians, and project personnel, including coordinating with ATTS engineering teams in Vietnam. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to assigned project locations as required. 1 - 2 years of experience with automated manufacturing equipment, industrial robots (such as FANUC, YASKAWA, or KUKA), PLC/HMI systems, sensors, actuators, industrial communication networks, Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley controls, automotive manufacturing, welding/assembly lines, or similar industrial automation environments is an advantage. OSHA 10/30, forklift or lift certification, site safety training, or other relevant technical or safety certifications, as well as a willingness to pursue additional training in robotics, PLC, HMI, electrical systems, or industrial automation , is an advantage. 4.
