Mechatronics Technician
Job Description
Role Overview We are seeking an electrical support specialist for our high-volume Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturing plant. You will be responsible for maintaining various machinery, including injection molding units, extrusion lines, and automated secondary systems, to ensure peak operational efficiency. Your role involves performing rapid repairs and managing the installation of new equipment to minimize downtime. Core Responsibilities Model a proactive safety mindset to help maintain a secure environment for all personnel. Maintain and diagnose complex automated work cells, vision systems, robotics, and electro-mechanical hardware. Identify and resolve issues within PLC programs of varying complexity. Deliver precise electrical diagnostics for electronic and electrical circuits to keep production moving. Utilize a solid understanding of DC and AC motors and adjustable speed drives. Apply computer and electrical expertise to accurately interpret technical schematics and drawings. Execute technical projects that contribute to the enhancement of production workflows. Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity of plant systems. Qualifications Completion of a 2-year technical degree combined with 1-3 years of relevant experience, plus a GED or High School Diploma. Proven background working within an industrial or manufacturing setting. Required Competencies Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Foster productive professional relationships with team members across all levels of the company. This role requires regular standing and walking, as well as frequent use of hands, reaching, talking, and hearing, with the ability to lift 30+ lbs. Decision-Making and Impact Operate with autonomy and exercise sound judgment in your daily tasks. Recognize when a situation requires escalation and proactively seek assistance to resolve complex issues. Organizational Structure This position is supervised by the Maintenance Supervisor, who reports to the Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager is accountable to the Plant Manager. Environment and Conditions Work takes place in a climate-controlled, clean, and well-lit manufacturing facility. You will work around standard industrial machinery with moving parts and may occasionally encounter fumes. Mandatory personal protective equipment includes safety glasses and earplugs, with additional gear provided as needed.
