POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and solutions-oriented Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technician to support the maintenance and repair needs of our restaurant clients. This position plays a critical role in ensuring facilities, equipment, and building systems remain safe, functional, and operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is committed to delivering exceptional service while minimizing operational downtime.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, including fryers, grills, ovens, refrigeration units, freezers, and beverage equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical issues. Complete preventative maintenance inspections according to company schedules and manufacturer recommendations. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency service calls from restaurant locations. Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs before they become operational issues. Maintain accurate repair records, work orders, equipment history, and maintenance documentation. Ensure tools, equipment, and service vehicles are maintained in safe working condition. Maintain inventory of replacement parts, supplies, and maintenance materials. Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required. Follow all OSHA, health, safety, food safety, and company policies while performing work. Communicate repair status, recommendations, and estimated completion times with management and restaurant teams. Participate in an on-call rotation as required to support business operations. Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of commercial maintenance experience, restaurant equipment repair, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
Working knowledge of:
Commercial kitchen equipment HVAC systems Electrical systems Plumbing Refrigeration Mechanical equipment Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures efficiently. Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment schematics. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel between multiple restaurant locations. Preferred Technical or trade school certification. EPA Refrigeration Certification. HVAC certification. Electrical or mechanical certifications. Restaurant maintenance experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong mechanical aptitude. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple service requests. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Professional communication and customer service skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency repairs. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and work overhead. Work in confined spaces and on rooftops when necessary. Perform work in hot, cold, wet, noisy, and greasy environments common to restaurant operations. Safely operate power tools, hand tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-Time Flexible schedule required. May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and participation in an on-call rotation. Travel between multiple restaurant locations is required.
