Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Backflow Inspector / Backflow Repair Technician to perform backflow testing, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on commercial and residential backflow prevention assemblies. The ideal candidate is a Certified Backflow Tester, Backflow Inspector, Backflow Technician, or Backflow Repair Technician with hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding backflow prevention devices. Responsibilities Perform backflow testing and inspections on commercial and residential properties. Test backflow prevention assemblies and accurately document test results. Diagnose failed backflow tests and determine the required repair. Perform backflow repairs, rebuilds, maintenance, and component replacement. Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving backflow prevention assemblies. Repair and service RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone), PVB (Pressure Vacuum Breaker), DC (Double Check), and other backflow prevention assemblies. Replace worn or defective check valves, relief valves, springs, seals, and other internal components. Identify leaks, pressure issues, failed components, and other backflow-related problems. Complete inspection reports, testing documentation, service tickets, and required paperwork. Communicate testing results and recommended repairs to customers and property representatives. Perform scheduled service calls and complete work efficiently and professionally. Maintain testing equipment, tools, and company vehicle. Follow applicable plumbing codes, backflow regulations, safety requirements, and company procedures. Provide professional customer service while working at customer locations. Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Backflow Tester, Backflow Inspector, Backflow Technician, or Backflow Repair Technician. Current Backflow Tester certification/license required for the applicable jurisdiction. Hands-on experience performing backflow repairs and rebuilds. Knowledge of backflow testing procedures and troubleshooting. Experience working with RPZ, PVB, Double Check Valve, and other backflow prevention assemblies. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs. Ability to accurately complete testing and inspection documentation. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently in the field. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: Backflow testing Backflow repair Cross-connection control Commercial plumbing Residential plumbing Service plumbing Irrigation Water systems Plumbing inspection Backflow prevention Candidates who have experience performing both backflow testing and backflow repairs are strongly preferred. What We're Looking For This is not simply a testing position. We are specifically looking for someone who can test, diagnose, repair, and maintain backflow prevention equipment. Pay:
$35.00 - $38.00 per hour
