Job Description

About the Role As an Electronic Technician Trainee, your primary focus is to facilitate the prompt delivery of equipment to meet operational requirements. You will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency of our Maintenance Base (MB) by minimizing nonproductive time and boosting overall team productivity. Your daily contributions will center on the following objectives: Ensure all assigned gear is serviced according to established maintenance programs and reliability strategies by utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard operating procedures. Maintain accurate records within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) systems, including tracking parts usage, labor hours, and maintenance history to ensure operational transparency. Follow all established TLM Product Line protocols and standards. Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in initiatives designed to optimize asset utilization and lower the Cost of Service Delivery (CoSD). Help improve asset turnaround times by identifying ways to reduce maintenance downtime, repair delays, and work-in-process bottlenecks. Assist in efforts to enhance the daily output and operational efficiency of the maintenance technician team. Execute CoSD-focused projects, such as the strategic repair and reuse of components to minimize waste. Take part in assigned failure analysis investigations to prevent future issues. Adhere to the requirements set forth by the TLM Competency Management System. Benefit from potential opportunities for permanent placement, contingent upon individual performance and organizational requirements. Key Responsibilities Execute the maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repair of various electronic and electromechanical systems, such as rotary control units. Utilize precision diagnostic instruments like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calipers to identify and resolve technical faults. Assemble and construct mechanical components, including bearing packs, to support production needs. Perform essential testing procedures, such as flow loop tests, and complete basic programming tasks. Collaborate on failure investigations to help the team implement long-term continuous improvement solutions. Operate within designated workstation zones while rotating through various tasks to maintain workflow. Meet production goals to help the team achieve greater equipment turnaround efficiency.
Experience & Skills Required Qualifications:
Possess at least two years of relevant professional experience, a two-year technical degree in electronics, or a background in military maintenance. Demonstrate proficiency in operating multimeters, oscilloscopes, standard hand tools, and various measuring instruments. Maintain strong computer literacy and the ability to effectively navigate internal business software. Show a foundational understanding of electronic principles combined with practical mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with rotary steerable tools or similar oilfield-specific equipment, which may qualify candidates for a higher compensation tier. Proven experience with soldering techniques, with ISO certifications considered a valuable asset. Work Environment Perform duties in an industrial shop or maintenance base setting, which involves regular exposure to oil, grease, mud, and equipment returned from the field. Note that this is a hands-on industrial environment rather than a clean room or laboratory setting. Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of coveralls and required personal protective equipment (PPE). Shift & Schedule Standard 1st shift hours typically run from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is required to support weekend rotations and extended working hours as needed.
