Full-Time Job Summary MRI Automation is seeking a motivated I&E Technician Apprentice / Electrical Apprentice to assist with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems in oil and gas production facilities. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn industrial electrical and instrumentation technologies while gaining hands-on field experience under the guidance of experienced technicians. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems Support senior I&E Technicians and Electricians with field projects and service calls Assist with the installation and calibration of: Pressure transmitters Temperature transmitters Flow meters Level instrumentation Control valves Assist with basic wiring, conduit installation, panel assembly, and electrical terminations Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs Support troubleshooting of PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and industrial control systems Perform preventative maintenance inspections on electrical and instrumentation equipment Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a safe and organized manner Complete required documentation and work reports accurately and timely Follow all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and punctuality Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Must possess or be willing to obtain a Texas Electrical Apprentice License Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in electrical and instrumentation systems Ability to learn quickly and follow directions Good communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Preferred Experience (Not Required) Oil & gas, industrial, agricultural, or construction experience Basic electrical knowledge Familiarity with PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, or automation systems Basic understanding of instrumentation devices and process control Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment Trade school, technical school, or vocational training Career Development Opportunities This position offers hands-on training and advancement opportunities toward becoming: I&E Technician Journeyman Electrician Automation Technician Controls Technician Measurement Technician Automation Programmer Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary Ability to stand, walk, and work in outdoor environments for extended periods Ability to travel to customer locations throughout South Texas Ability to work overtime and weekends as required Work outdoors in varying weather conditions Live within 45 minutes of Kenedy, TX (Preferred) Wear required PPE, including FR clothing and safety equipment Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off Paid Holidays On-the-Job Training Career Advancement Opportunities Company-Provided Safety Equipment Performance-Based Bonus Program Why Join MRI Automation?
