Communications is currently seeking a Fiber Optic Splicer Technician for a 30-day contract. This position involves 100% travel in the Bayport and Longview Texas areas. VI Communications is a complete design and installation contractor for data and voice networks, including fiber optic and high-speed copper installations.

Responsibilities:

Be able to terminate and test underground fiber Be able to fusion splice fiber Testing and troubleshooting continuity of fiber optic networks Operate all testing equipment and be adept at resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning etc. Adhere to all quality and safety codes Must be able to pass hair follicle drug testing, background check and MVR check

Qualifications:

Previous experience in telecommunications or other related fields Familiarity with electrical schematics and blueprints Familiarity with copper & fiber optic testing equipment and hand tools Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills Military Experience Preferred but not

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
