This role involves installing, splicing, and maintaining fiber optic networks to ensure high-quality data transmission for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber optics, network installations, customer service, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. This position will require the candidate to have their own reliable truck with ladder and all applicable tools required. Some equipment assistance can be provided for the right candidate if necessary. Duties Install and terminate fiber optic cables at customer locations Conduct testing and troubleshooting of fiber optics using tools such as VFLs and light meters Use hand tools to assemble, mount, and secure cable Perform field service tasks including site surveys, equipment setup, and maintenance Ensure compliance with safety standards related to telecommunication work Document installation processes, test results, and system configurations accurately Ability to work safely off a ladder Skills Proven experience in fiber splicing and network installation Experience working as a service technician in telecommunication or related fields Ability to use hand tools, VFLs, light meters and other testing equipment effectively Ability to read maps and blueprints Excellent customer service Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot network issues Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients This position is ideal for individuals with a background in telecommunication work seeking to advance their career in fiber optics and network infrastructure.
