Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced A&P Maintenance Instructor to join our educational team, dedicated to training the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive instruction on aircraft maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), ensuring students acquire the technical skills necessary for success in the aviation industry. Your expertise will help shape skilled technicians capable of working safely and efficiently across various maintenance disciplines, including hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC/R, welding, automotive repair, and aircraft systems. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on teaching with curriculum development in a vibrant learning environment. Responsibilities Deliver engaging classroom and online instruction on aircraft maintenance, including topics such as hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC/R, welding, automotive diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge. Develop and update course curricula to meet industry standards and incorporate current technological advancements like programmable logic controllers and educational technologies such as Blackboard. Provide practical training on maintenance procedures, repair techniques, and safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards. Assess student performance through exams, practical demonstrations, and project evaluations; offer constructive feedback to support their growth. Foster an inclusive learning environment by working effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying levels of experience. Incorporate industry-relevant skills such as automotive service, plumbing, HVAC systems, and aircraft maintenance into instructional content. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and course completion in compliance with institutional policies. Qualifications Proven experience in aircraft maintenance or related fields such as automotive repair, HVAC/R, plumbing or mechanical systems. Strong technical proficiency with tools and equipment used in MRO environments; familiarity with working on aircraft systems is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to design engaging curriculum and deliver adult education effectively through classroom training or online instruction platforms like Blackboard. Prior experience working with post-secondary students or adult learners from diverse backgrounds is preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to maintenance environments; certification in OSHA is advantageous. Hands-on experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, welding (including TIG/MIG), automotive diagnostics, and HVAC systems. Excellent communication skills combined with a passion for teaching technical skills in a higher education setting. $25.07 - $50.20 per hour
