Job Title:
Mechatronics & Robotics Technician Position located: Chesapeake, VA 3-4 month contract to hire $32.50/hr Must be willing to submit to background check and 4-panel drug test Must be open to any shift Job Description The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) plays a critical role in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing material handling equipment. This position ensures the efficiency and safety of automated systems and components. Responsibilities Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, such as conveyors. Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures. Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries. Enter downtime data in daily logs and complete PM sheets. Manage work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Utilize electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and identify equipment problems. Track and store the department's inventory, including spare parts. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. 2+ years of experience in repairing material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls. Proficiency in blueprint and electrical schematic reading for at least 2 years. Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles with at least 2 years of experience. Experience in following and demonstrating safety standards for over 2 years. At least 1 year of experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and applications for at least 1 year. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in Distribution, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Industrial industries is preferred. Familiarity with complex systems and industrial equipment, especially conveyors and MHE. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Experience with automated conveyor systems and completing preventative maintenance. Familiarity with schematic, hydraulics, motors, and conveyor systems. Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college focusing on Mechanical or Electrical fields is preferred.
