General Description:
STi plans, organizes, directs and controls NUWCDIVKPT's Test, Training and Evaluation (TT&E) of Undersea Warfare (USW) Systems and Operational Readiness Assessment support for Acquisition and Fleet customers. STi conducts system evaluation activities throughout all phases of the acquisition life cycle including technology development, system design, development, production, and in-service readiness assessment. In performance of Test and Evaluation, STi plans and executes test programs; provides test environments that closely approximate war-fighting environments; provides methods for measuring system performance in those environments; and conducts performance analysis and evaluation of the systems under test. STi provides T&E planning, test execution and analytical support. STi supports Analysis and Assessment, Fleet Material Readiness, Signatures and Susceptibility and other Product Areas. (2.3.1) STi's Engineering Technician II supports undersea tracking range operations. STi's Engineering Technician II operates and maintain range support systems, provides maintenance logs, trend analysis and update range databases. STi operates and maintains electronic, acoustic, video, mechanical, and electro-hydraulic range systems. STi's Engineering Technician II verifies systems operability and logs all maintenance actions. STi's Engineering Technician II conducts equipment maintenance, backup system-software and upgrades for the Range systems monthly. STi's Engineering Technician II provides independent assessment and technical support for Fleet Validation/Verification and Range Tests including dockside and underway shipboard technical support for Shipboard Simulation and Recovery Systems. STi's Engineering Technician II, using Range Maintenance Logs, categorizes and summarizes failure information into a listing delineating failed equipment, causes, dates, corrective actions, recommendations, and impacts. STi's Engineering Technician II analyzes any recurrent events or trends and prepare Failure Analysis Reports. STi's Engineering Technician II collects and inputs Range technical, test, maintenance and schedule data into various Range Databases. STi's Engineering Technician II provides technical support of communication/radio equipment in support of Radio Shop. STi's Engineering Technician II provides technical support for parts research using Government databases and websites. (2.3.2) STi's Engineering Technician II provides technical support in the design, development, fabrication, and assembly of equipment and components under development by the USW Test, Training, and Evaluation Group. Also, provide support for test stand design and fabrication. (2.5.1) STi's Engineering Technician II provides repair support for the MK30 Target components. STi's Engineering Technician II troubleshoots/repairs/modifies/test cables and other electrical, electronic, or mechanical hardware such as Auxiliary Power Units, Power Amp, Power Switches , Speed Setters, MK 30 projectors, Main Casualty Logic Box (MCLB), radio beacons, emergency shutdown Pingers, Shaft Seal Assemblies, Control Assemblies, Propulsion Motors, Au/Zn Battery Maintenance, End Of Run/Line Spectrum Generation (EOR/LSG) Spheres, Compensators, Pressure Regulators, or equivalent type assemblies. (2.5.2) STi's Engineering Technician II assists in the Turn-Around of the Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV) to support such projects as MTV, XTV and other like projects such as mid-size UUV Razorback and large displacement UUV Snakehead. This includes breakdown and reassembly of the system and on-site mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of the system. STi's Engineering Technician II assists in containerizing the vehicle. STi conducts planned maintenance on the vehicle and associated test sets. Requirements Education /
Experience:
Desired Associates' Degree and one year of experience in related field.
Clearance Requirements:
Secret Clearance
Hourly Rate:
$31.22 per hour.
Additional Rate:
$4.54 per hour for Health and Welfare.
