Thermal Management Technician PACCAR paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) United States, Washington, Mount Vernon Sep 03, 2026 Requisition Summary PACCAR Technical Center is seeking an experienced Technician to support engineering staff and test operations within the Thermal Management Group (TMG). This hands-on role involves preparing medium- and heavy-duty trucks for laboratory and field testing, installing instrumentation and data acquisition systems, operating test equipment under engineering direction, and supporting thermal systems evaluations. Division Information The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. Job Functions / Responsibilities

Prepare and install test instrumentation on commercial trucks for testing.

Install and configure data acquisition and monitoring equipment.

Install test vehicles in the test facility, including dynamometer and data acquisition setup.

Perform pre-test inspections and channel checks to ensure proper data collection.

Operate thermal test facility equipment, including engine loading and ambient condition controls, while monitoring truck performance and data acquisition systems.

Operate engine monitoring software such as ATI and DAVIE.

Remove and replace test parts during testing.

Troubleshoot issues affecting the test vehicle or instrumentation.

Maintain organized project documentation and communicate activity status and issues in a timely manner.

Perform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision after training.

Support test facility and laboratory maintenance as needed.

Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes.

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant work experience.

Working knowledge of automotive cooling and climate control systems.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to manage workload and adapt to shifting priorities and project demands.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to lift and carry equipment and work around vehicles.

Education Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Instrumentation, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Paccar Benefits As a
