Fiber Technician

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Build & maintain fiber optic networks/Integrate new technologies into existing plants SCOPE Fiber splicing, osp placement, ISP placement, ISP installs, trouble shooting, OTDR testing, power meter testing, fiber characterization, Auditing, documentation

RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold the WGN name always be respectful citreous & attentive to the client Maintain a clean and safe work environment Adhere to work schedule Provide a daily update to your supervisor/PM via email Keep up to date on emails (read all) Be readily available for call outs Mon thru Friday Work efficiently and thoughtfully Take pride and ownership of your work Report any onsite issues job related or other to your supervisor/PM Always clean your job site (you pack it in you pack it out) Adhere to credit card policy's SKILLS Tool operation Operate fiber strippers, any precision cleaver, mid entry tool, universal mid entry tool, any fusion machine, OTDR, power meter, bucket van, lasher, rodder, locate set, tugger, winch In tray fiber measurement Clean buffer tube routing Preform Section throw Preform Mid entry Build and splice any enclosure Build Splice any termination Testing & test documentation (provide a clear and concise report to your supervisor/PM) Audit OSP/ISP enclosures (provide a clear and concise audit to your supervisor/PM) Cable placing OSP (document wall/pole ft) Cable placing ISP (document wall/term ft) ISP equipment installation OSP equipment installation Photo document all jobs
