Automation Technician Ascent Professional Services $28.00 - $40.00 / hr vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) United States, Wisconsin, Germantown Aug 31, 2026 Our client located in the Germantown/Menomonee Falls area are seeking Automation Technicians who will support end of arm tooling (EOAT), robots, and automated assembly machinery as well as provides input for improvement processes in a manufacturing environment. This is a 12-Hour Day or Night Shift Opportunity either from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m on a rotating 2-2-3 cycle. Compared to a traditional 5-day workweek, the 12-hour rotating shift schedule translates to approximately 75 fewer workdays per year for employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.

Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.

Learn and master all necessary areas of the quality system.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Performs robotic programming, troubleshooting, and repair.

Support automated machinery production runs by solving technical issues.

Responsible for training on assembly machines and robot set-ups.

Ensure that work instructions are up to date.

Order parts and materials as needed.

Troubleshoot assembly equipment and other machinery including but not limited to pad printers, sonic welders, heat stakers, and hot stampers.

Identify unsafe equipment and ensure that equipment operates safely prior to line start up.

Set up robots, EOAT, conveyors, degators, secondary equipment, etc.

Build fixtures, guarding, etc., as needed.

Document robotic application development and maintenance.

Create backups to robot programs and parameters.

Any other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Must have at a minimum a general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program, or a four-year university program, in a related field of study is preferred but not required.

2 - 10 years of experience in related fields.

Must have Automation experience from either a technical college or from manufacturing automation experience.

Fork truck and Lock out Tag out Certification.

Familiar working with conventional manufacturing equipment such as milling machines, lathes, saws, hand tools etc.

Demonstrates abilities with 6-axis and SCARA Type Robots (Fanuc).
