Position Summary Vistabeam is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Fiber Optic Installer to join our field operations team in Casper, Wyoming. In this role, you will be responsible for installing fiber optic cabling and related networking equipment at business and commercial customer sites. We are looking for candidates who take pride in clean, high-quality workmanship, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and bring an eagerness to learn. Prior experience in fiber optics or structured cabling is a plus, but we are fully prepared to train candidates with a strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in telecommunications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities What You'll Do Cable Installation & Routing:
Install and route fiber optic cable through approved pathways, conduits, drop ceilings, and equipment rooms in commercial buildings.
Equipment Assembly:
Safely assemble, mount, and organize fiber enclosures, wall boxes, patch panels, and related hardware at customer premises.
Tool & Safety Operation:
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, drills, ladders, and cable-pulling equipment according to project plans and safety protocols.
Termination & Testing:
Terminate, splice, label, and test fiber connections according to company standards, training guidelines, and specific job requirements.
Troubleshooting & Documentation:
Support installation troubleshooting, identify issues early, and accurately document completed work, path routes, and test results.
Customer & Site Coordination:
Protect customer property, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and coordinate access professionally with site contacts and commercial property managers.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
Strictly adhere to company safety standards, local building codes, installation specs, and customer-specific guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements What You'll Need Physical Capability:
Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds regularly and perform physical labor, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working above ceiling levels for extended periods.
Technical Aptitude:
Comfort using basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Quality Mindset:
Attention to detail, commitment to clean installations, and an eagerness to learn fiber installation, fusion splicing, and testing protocols.
Professional Communication:
Strong verbal communication skills with a customer-first attitude when representing Vistabeam on commercial job sites. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, low-voltage wiring, or commercial construction. Familiarity with reading blueprints, building schematics, or pathway diagrams. $21.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
