Job Description RESPEC seeks a Student Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern for our Summer Internship 2027 program in our Anchorage, AK or Juneau, AK offices. This is a temporary part-time position. Our student Mechanical Engineering intern works under the general direction of a senior-level staff member or a supervisor and is responsible for assisting project teams with mechanical calculations, design, and construction administration tasks. They are expected to collaborate with one or more technical mentors to assist with various projects. Working at RESPEC means working on world-class projects in your own backyard. Our electrical engineering intern will work alongside our firm's full-time employees to learn how professional services are provided to our clients in the form of facilities design and construction document preparation. The primary responsibilities include supporting our electrical engineering staff in support of design and construction projects. Our experienced staff will provide mentoring and coaching to our interns to allow development of drafting skills and knowledge. Interns will get exposed to our construction document production for our public and private sector clients. This hands-on design position is within RESPEC's Facilities group. Our mechanical or electrical engineering interns will work alongside our firm's full-time employees to learn how professional services are provided to our clients in the form of infrastructure design, construction document preparation, construction services, and site observations for facility and utility projects. The primary responsibilities include supporting our mechanical and electrical engineering staff and field construction inspectors in support of design and construction projects. Our experienced staff will provide mentoring and coaching to our interns to allow development of mechanical and electrical engineering skills and knowledge. Interns will get exposed to our clients, job sites as well as collaborating with local architects and our RESPEC multi discipline team on public and private sector clients. Salary depends on experience. This is temporary part-time position. No benefits are offered except those that are required for statutory purposes.Work Schedule:
