Electrical Design Engineer Purpose:
Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation of complex military systems in Huntsville, AL . The ideal candidate will have experience with the entire electrical design cycle of military systems. Conducts and supports the development of requirements for electrical power systems for military products. Conducts analysis, design, development, integration and test of electrical power systems for military products. Participates in the development of trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability analysis. Tests and evaluates electrical systems with a team of engineers. Develops test fixtures and prototypes to diagnose or test specific components. Create and maintain cable diagrams and schematics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of electrical systems hardware. Provide technical support to other teams as needed. Interaction with customers and vendors will be required.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering or science field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical systems hardware design and integration. Must be familiar with Cable Diagrams and Schematics. Must have excellent skills in Customer and Team Communication and Collaboration. Must have the ability to work with software and hardware. Multitasking of multiple parallel efforts.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with developing technical design packages for complex engineering systems, preferred. Experience with presenting and defending technical designs and analyses, preferred. Circuit and Printed Circuit Board Design, preferred.
Toolsets and familiarity:
Altium, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, MATLAB, National Instruments LabView, etc, preferred. Army programs (DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center, Space and Missile Defense Command), preferred. Experience with flight test preparation and support, preferred. Security Requirements Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Travel Requirements Occasional travel- less than 10% If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id ) Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
