- The
- Sr. Electrical Engineer
- designs, develops and maintains electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.
- Position Responsibilities
- + Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience + Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant experience + Proficient with office software, computer-based productivity tools and other software tools in one's area of expertise + Experienced using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout + Experienced in one or more areas: Radio Frequency (RF), embedded control, FPGA + Experienced with power electronics, including motors and Battery Technology (lead acid, Nickel metal hybrid & Lithium ion) + Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems + Demonstrated familiarity of common industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB) + Knowledge of Engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics & material properties + Some travel may be required in support of flight test operations (up to 30%) + Must have a clean driving record •Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies•+ Advanced degree is preferred + Flight test or R/C (Remote Control) experience a plus, hands-on experience with tools a plus + Demonstrates familiarity with Small UAV subsystems and associated software a plus + Uses professional concepts & company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

- + Ability to work in an office (Constant) + Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

- No Clearance The salary range for this role is: $100,500 - $153,250 AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
ITAR Requirement:
