Job Requirements Scottsdale, AZ Secret Polygraph not specified Senior Level Career (10+ yrs experience) Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Overview Our client, a leading defense technology organization, is seeking a Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join a team developing advanced communications, electronic warfare, and mission-critical signal processing solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with deep expertise in custom waveform development, communications systems, RF signal processing, and advanced algorithm design. The selected candidate will contribute to the research, development, modeling, and implementation of sophisticated DSP algorithms supporting next-generation defense platforms and technologies. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithm development
  • Experience developing and analyzing custom waveforms independent of specific hardware implementations
  • Proficiency with floating-point and fixed-point algorithm design and optimization
  • Experience working within Agile development environments What You'll Do
  • Design, model, and develop advanced DSP algorithms for communications and EW applications
  • Create and optimize custom waveforms for mission-critical environments
  • Support research, prototyping, and deployment of advanced signal processing solutions
  • Evaluate and improve system performance through simulation, analysis, and testing
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Apply innovative AI/ML techniques to challenging signal processing problems
  • Contribute to next-generation defense and national security technologies Preferred Technical Experience Candidates with experience in the following areas are highly desired:

  • Software-defined radio (SDR) and waveform development Desired Expertise The ideal candidate will possess experience in several of the following areas:
  • Advanced algorithm development, modeling, simulation, and optimization
  • Research and applied R D supporting communications and electronic warfare (EW) systems
  • Linear and non-linear signal processing
  • Channel estimation and equalization
  • OFDM waveform design and analysis
  • Low Probability of Intercept/Low Probability of Detection (LPI/LPD) waveform development
  • Anti-jam communications systems
  • Beamforming and beam-nulling technologies
  • GNSS anti-jam or Alternative Navigation (AltNav) solutions
  • AI/ML applications for signal detection, classification, and modulation recognition
  • RF communications and modern wireless systems
