Job Purpose:
Under general direction of the C&E Engineering Supervisor, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for focusing on the design and development of electrical systems for renewable natural gas facilities.Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages all electrical aspects of assigned projects to ensure successful project delivery Designs and develops electrical systems for Renewable Natural Gas facilities centered around medium and low-voltage power distribution systems Responsible for the engineering, calculations, and design of facility electrical system components such as switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, motor starters, small UPS, panel boards, feeders, and branch circuits Creates high-quality deliverables such as Drawings and Specifications in accordance with company standards Ensures all electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations Collaborates with vendors and manufacturers to select appropriate electrical equipment for projects Works closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, project managers, and drafting technicians to execute projects Provides engineering expertise and mentoring to junior engineers Ability to travel as necessary, with the ability to obtain a Passport to travel outside the United States These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assignedSkills & Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in power system design Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) Strong understanding of codes and standards such as theNEC, NFPA70E, IEEE, UL
etc. Extensive experience with power system modelling software such asETAP, SKM
PTW, or EasyPower Extensive experience in performing electrical studies such as Coordination, Short-Circuit, Arc Flash, Harmonics, etc. Experience designing facility lightning protection systems in accordance withNFPA 780
Review construction submittals, provide RFI responses, and generate document revisions Excellent organization, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent 2D design software Ability to work independently, and collaboratively with minimal supervision Strong understanding of motors and motor starters such as VFDs Ability to utilize experience to prepare accurate cost estimates for our customers Experience using testing equipment such as multimeters Proficiency with PDF markup tools,Microsoft Word, and Excel Preferred Qualifications:
PE license in multiple states Willingness to apply for PE license in multiple statesDirect Reports:
