This person will apply knowledge and principles of electronic theory, design and engineering to future product development and existing design upgrades. This person will oversee the entire design cycle from concept through qualification and production. In addition, this person will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure company goals are productively set and achieved. The ideal candidate possesses strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills along with the ability to read, analyze, interpret and generate complex technical documents. Other attributes of this position include self-drive, the desire to solve problems and contribute to a team environment while also managing independent responsibilities. Knowledge of computer storage systems and common computer protocols desired. Knowledge of embedded subsystems/chassis, experience with FPGA design, familiarity with encryption standards for Data-At-Rest and Data-in-Motion a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, test, qualify and manage PCBA designs through the product life cycles Assist in mechanical/manufacturing engineering development and design Prepare technical documents for hardware/firmware design requirements and capabilities Create/review validation/diagnostic test plans Assist Quality and Product Management in gathering and investigating production failures along with countermeasures and adoptions. Work with certification agencies to ensure developed products comply with the appropriate requirements (UL, FCC, FIPS, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

BSEE/BSCS/BSCE or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ year experience in electronics design Experience with electronic circuit interfacing design techniques for high-speed signals, advanced microcontrollers, memory devices, analog and digital sensor inputs Experience in designing low noise circuits and low power electronics Experience in PCBA design including schematics, BOM and PCB design Familiarity with the full product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, prototyping, testing, certification, and product launch Knowledge of computer storage and system architecture Experience with developing test procedures, executing tests and documenting results Excellent oral and written communication skills Organized, detailed oriented, ability to multitask, work under pressure, and prioritize Must have a "can do" attitude, be self-driven, be a quick learner and team player
