Structured Description Position Overview The Hardware Electrical Engineer develops and validates electronic hardware to meet mission requirements in high-radiation environments. This role designs circuits and boards, supports prototyping and testing, and works directly with radiation engineers to ensure hardware reliability under extreme conditions. Key Responsibilities Design, prototype, and validate electronic circuits and hardware systems. Support board-level layout, schematic capture, and component selection. Collaborate with radiation engineers and test teams to align designs with mission environment requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during prototyping and testing phases. Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on system-level architectures. Contribute to documentation, workflow improvements, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams. Support radiation testing efforts including building test coupons and test hardware Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field. 4+ years of experience in electronic product design Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design. Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium KiCad, OrCAD) Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues at the component and system level. Strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively. Preferred Skills Familiarity software defined radios and RF systems. Experience designing hardware for aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability applications. Knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and mitigation techniques. Familiarity with mixed-signal circuit design and embedded systems. Experience with reliability testing and qualification processes. Additional Requirements This is an on-site role for the greater Boulder metropolitan area. May be required to travel occasionally to support test activities. Compensation The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
