Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and scheduling efforts for industrial and commercial projects. The role focuses on design and analysis of power distribution systems (low and medium voltage), motor control, controls integration, and arc flash studies from concept through commissioning. The Senior Electrical Engineer will own technical solutions, ensure compliance with codes and safety standards, coordinate with project teams and clients, and mentor junior staff.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical system design for industrial and commercial projects including low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution and switchgear selection.

Develop motor control systems, variable frequency drive applications, and associated control schematics.

Perform power system studies including load flow, short-circuit analysis, coordination, and ArcFlash analysis using tools such as ETAP.Create and review electrical design deliverables: single-line diagrams, schematics, load calculations, equipment schedules, specifications, and construction drawings.

Integrate controls, SCADA, and instrumentation requirements into electrical designs and work with controls/automation engineers on PLC and HMI implementations.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to define scope, resolve technical issues, and ensure constructability.

Manage project technical scope, schedules and budgets; perform design reviews, quality checks and deliverable management.

Provide on-site support during installation, startup, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting as required.

Mentor and train junior electrical engineers and drafters; provide technical guidance and enforce engineering standards and best practices.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Masters degree and/or technical certifications a plus.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.4+ years of electrical engineering experience; preffered experience on industrial or commercial power systems projects.

Strong hands-on experience in low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution, motor control, and electrical design.

Experience performing ArcFlash analysis and protective device coordination.

Proficiency with ETAP or equivalent power system analysis software;Working knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, instrumentation, and controls design.

Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
