General Dynamics Electric Boat wants you to be a part of our mission to bring the latest Electrical Systems to the US Navy's Fleet of Submarines. Do enjoy solving complex multi-disciplinary engineering problems? Do you have an interest in electrical systems? Can you communicate your ideas? As a member of this team of diverse engineers you will work with to design, develop, test and deliver electrical systems to the shipyard and the US Navy Fleet. Examples of the type of work this position entails: Develop and review changes to electrical system diagrams including system interfaces
Evaluate electrical cableways design and routing drawings
Troubleshoot issues identified by construction team
Write procedures to test and maintain electrical systems
Interface with internal customers to ensure the system is installed to plan
Work with operations to support installation and test
Emphasis on mentoring junior personnel
Review and mentor junior engineers Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as a few other variables. Qualifications Required Minimum Associate of Science degree in electrical engineering or engineering degree with related electrical background
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Level Clearance
10 or more years of submarine shipbuilding and/or service experience Preferred Prior defense contractor systems engineering experience
Former submarine service
