Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in residential construction to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for single-family homes, luxury residences, townhomes, and residential renovations. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required, along with a solid understanding of Florida Building Code and applicable electrical standards. This is a design-focused position requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate, permit-ready electrical construction documents. Key Responsibilities Design electrical systems for new residential construction, renovations, and additions. Prepare detailed electrical drawings, including lighting plans, power plans, panel schedules, riser diagrams, and electrical details. Perform electrical load calculations, circuit sizing, panel sizing, and voltage drop calculations. Develop and modify electrical construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Design electrical layouts for interior and exterior lighting, receptacles, appliances, HVAC equipment, and other residential systems. Ensure all electrical designs comply with the Florida Building Code, National Electrical Code (NEC), and applicable local regulations. Review architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings to ensure electrical systems are properly integrated into the overall building design. Prepare electrical drawings and documentation for building permit submissions. Review and address building department comments and revise drawings as necessary. Identify and resolve electrical design conflicts and discrepancies. Perform quality checks on drawings and calculations before final submission. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required. Experience preparing complete electrical construction documents for residential permitting. Strong knowledge of the Florida Building Code and National Electrical Code. Experience with electrical load calculations, lighting design, panel schedules, and electrical distribution systems. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Familiarity with residential construction methods and permitting requirements in South Florida. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
