Job Description Responsibilities:
You will: Provide technical consultation and leadership for the US Electrical Power life cycle, acting as the technical authority for hardware related decisions within the Electrical Power domain. Provide technical leadership in design reviews and relevant design boards to drive industry leading hardware solutions in our product portfolio, with primary leadership responsibility for Design Board 6 (Hardware). Represent the Chief Engineer's Office in matters related to hardware design excellence through design practices, technical reviews, and best practices. Current with aerospace industry, academia and regulatory initiatives to ensure state of the art competitiveness. Provide technical mentoring to the global Controlled Titled Holder community and pipeline, and coaching and guidance to engineers in day-to-day activities. Lead the Hardware Electrical Power US functional element of the Competency Model Framework and Key Technology Areas to build Controlled Title Holder technical competency across the function. Coordinate with the Avionics and Electrical Power UK Hardware CCEs on effective strategies within the Chief Engineer's Office. Lead Chief Engineer's Office initiatives to improve engineering process and performance. Provide leadership, experience and knowledge to help proactively identify and solve technical problems. Promotes the documentation of lessons learned and their subsequent translation to effective improvement actions within the organization. Champion the proliferation ofFLIGHT DECK
through the organization.Essential Qualifications:
Technical degree in Engineering. At least 15 years of experience in hardware technologies related to Electrical Power product development. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required. Familiarity with commercial & military aerospace systems practices and associated industry standards, policies and procedures. Knowledge of and passion forFLIGHT DECK
( lean manufacturing principles), and the ability to drive this successfully in the organization. Competency in the fundamentals of the Electrical Power product area. This position requires U.S. citizenship status.Desired Characteristics:
Experience with GE Aerospace Electrical Power standards and processes. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Strong leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. The base pay range for this position is $183,000.00- $220,000.
