Riverview, Florida Position Overview A growing industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Controls Manager to lead the controls engineering team and oversee the design, programming, testing, and implementation of automated control systems. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing engineers while providing technical support throughout project development, testing, startup, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop the Controls Engineering team. Oversee PLC programming, HMI development, electrical controls design, and system integration. Provide technical guidance on PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, motion control, and industrial networks. Review electrical schematics, controls designs, programming, and project documentation. Work with Project Management, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, customers, vendors, and contractors. Troubleshoot complex electrical, automation, and controls issues. Support FAT, installation, startup, and commissioning activities. Assist with controls estimating, project scope, scheduling, and technical requirements. Establish and maintain controls engineering standards and best practices. Identify opportunities to improve automation, system reliability, and engineering processes. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 7+ years of controls/automation engineering experience. Previous leadership or management experience. Strong PLC programming experience, preferably Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation and/or Siemens. Experience with HMI systems, VFDs, instrumentation, motion control, and industrial networks. Strong understanding of electrical controls and automation systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. Experience troubleshooting and commissioning industrial equipment. Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills.
