Full-Time Job Summary Hands-on Controls / Automation Engineer role supporting a high-volume copper rod mill in a 24/7 heavy industrial environment . This position is the primary Siemens PLC resource for the facility , responsible for troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and improving automation systems that directly impact production uptime. This is a plant-floor intensive role (>70%) requiring strong Siemens PLC capability and comfort working in a demanding production environment where downtime has immediate operational impact. Ideal candidates are Siemens-focused controls engineers who have worked directly in industrial manufacturing environments and are comfortable owning automation systems end-to-end. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering discipline Minimum 1+ year hands-on Controls / Automation / Electrical Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Strong Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting experience (required — must be Siemens, not Allen-Bradley) Siemens TIA Portal experience (logic development, troubleshooting, commissioning) Proven plant-floor troubleshooting experience in industrial manufacturing Strong root cause analysis and downtime recovery capability Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available at any stage) Must be comfortable working in a heavy industrial, high-heat production environment Preferred Skills & Qualifications AutoCAD Electrical experience Fanuc robotics experience

system experience High-volume continuous manufacturing (24/7 operations) Capital project or automation upgrade experience Day-to-Day Responsibilities Spend majority of time on the production floor supporting Siemens PLC systems Troubleshoot, program, and commission Siemens PLC/HMI systems in live production environment Respond to downtime events and restore equipment quickly to maintain production flow Support automation upgrades, system improvements, and capital projects Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures Maintain and update electrical documentation and control system records Document system changes in SAP or equivalent ERP system Provide after-hours support for critical production issues when required Physical & Environment Requirements Heavy industrial copper rod mill environment (high heat, noise, dust) Significant plant-floor exposure (>70% of workday) Standing, walking, climbing, and working around operating machinery Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs Standard schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with production flexibility Company Benefits & Culture This is a high-autonomy engineering environment where Controls Engineers are expected to own systems, solve problems independently, and directly influence production performance.
