12 month+ contract assignment The Opportunity The Ranger Group is seeking a high-caliber Senior Electrical Engineer to support one of our premier aerospace customers in the Chicago area. This is a critical role within a multidisciplinary project team, focused on the design and development of sophisticated analog and power electronics systems. If you are a seasoned engineer who thrives on technical precision—from simulating complex circuits in PSPICE to navigating the rigors of EMI/EMC compliance—we want to hear from you. You will be a key contributor to the project's success, ensuring that high-level customer specifications are transformed into reliable, flight-ready hardware.
Key Responsibilities Precision Design:
Lead the design of low-signal analog and power electronics, ensuring seamless integration with digital system architectures.
Requirements Mastery:
Utilize DOORS to capture, track, and translate customer specifications into detailed electrical requirements.
Analytical Rigor:
Perform component power consumption and dissipation calculations; use MathCAD for advanced scientific modeling and PSPICE for circuit simulation.
Schematic Excellence:
Execute complex schematic captures using Mentor DxDesigner/Expedition .
Testing & Validation:
Author comprehensive test plans and lead hands-on troubleshooting and validation using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
EMI/EMC Strategy:
Apply industry-standard design principles to ensure electromagnetic interference and compatibility requirements are met.
Qualifications The Essentials Education:
Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of professional experience (10+ years preferred) in the field of Electrical Engineering, specifically within aerospace or high-reliability industries.
Compliance:
Due to the nature of the aerospace projects, US-Person status is strictly required.
Tools:
High proficiency in Mentor DxDesigner , PSPICE , MathCAD , and DOORS . The "Aerospace Edge" (Preferred) Experience with
High-Power Systems:
High current (200A+) and high voltage (270V+). Knowledge of 3-phase inverters and motor control theory .
Professional & Soft Skills Technical Translator:
Ability to explain intricate technical concepts clearly to multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, eCAD, Systems).
Collaborative Mindset:
You will operate as a core member of the project team, requiring proactive communication and a commitment to shared project goals.
Critical Problem Solver:
