Back Senior Electrical Engineer Electrical Engineer Plainfield , Illinois Permanent Aug 11, 2026 Location Plainfield, IL Primarily onsite engineering support Overview Join a leading global provider of storage infrastructure, terminals, and industrial asset management solutions supporting complex energy and industrial projects. This role is responsible for leading electrical engineering design activities for large-scale storage and infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise across power generation, power distribution, substations, lighting, and grounding systems while ensuring safe, high-quality project execution. Must-Have Domains Industrial Electrical Engineering & Power Distribution Storage, Terminal & Industrial Infrastructure Projects Engineering Design & Project Execution Core Responsibilities Develop electrical engineering deliverables including conceptual studies, one-line diagrams, layouts, specifications, and voltage drop calculations. Design and analyze power generation, substation, power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems for complex industrial projects. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure safe, constructible, and code-compliant project execution. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and engineering guidance to junior engineers while supporting new technology development. Manage assigned engineering scope including cost, schedule, change management, quality, and budget performance. Must-Have Experience 10+ years of detailed electrical engineering experience supporting industrial or infrastructure projects. Experience designing power generation, substations, electrical distribution, lighting, and grounding systems. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design processes, engineering software, and multidisciplinary project execution. Code Compliance Electrical Layouts, Specifications & Conceptual Engineering Studies Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (PE) registration Preferred Skills Experience serving as a technical subject matter expert on complex engineering projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Experience mentoring or training junior engineers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project schedules and budgets. Strong collaboration and cross-functional coordination skills. Business acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders across engineering and project teams. Work Environment Based in a Regional Engineering Office with temporary assignments to project sites as needed. Collaborates closely with multidisciplinary engineering, fabrication, and construction teams. Supports engineering activities throughout project design and execution.
