IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Rock Island, Illinois to work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. Over 10-12 weeks, you will support real project work tied to building-system design and coordination. In this role, you will help the team work within project budgets, collaborate with cross-functional disciplines, document design decisions, and support project progress from design through periodic job site observations. Not available What You'll Do- Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings
- Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
- Assist with working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
- Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment
- Assist with client relations, project design notebook maintenance, and documentation for permanent record files
- Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
- Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions promptly while monitoring project design progress
- Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
- Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement What You'll Bring Required Education
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required Experience Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Previous exposure to CAD and/or Building Information Model software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups About the Team
- Industrial support work includes bulk material handling, substations, automation and controls, structural support, and plant infrastructure.
- The team also supports recurring civil and municipal water and wastewater-related scope.
