Job Requirements Rolling Meadows, IL Secret Polygraph not specified Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience) $80,000 - $120,000 Job Description Position Overview Our client is seeking a Digital Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and development of advanced RF and digital electronic systems within a fast-paced engineering organization supporting mission-critical technologies. This engineer will work closely with RF, Electrical, Mechanical, and Systems Engineering teams throughout the full product development lifecycle. The role is heavily focused on digital hardware, firmware support, RF simulations, requirements development, design reviews, and engineering analysis. Successful candidates will be comfortable working in a lab environment, collaborating across multiple programs, and taking ownership of technical tasks with minimal oversight. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring onsite work in a laboratory and development environment. Responsibilities
  • Perform RF and digital simulations to support system and hardware development.
  • Analyze RF designs and provide engineering recommendations based on simulation results.
  • Support digital hardware and firmware development efforts.
  • Develop, review, and refine engineering requirements and technical documentation.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews, including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems, RF, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
  • Support product development activities from requirements definition through integration, testing, and verification.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and assist with design validation and testing efforts.
  • Contribute to multiple engineering programs with evolving priorities and schedules. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Digital, Electrical, RF, or Firmware Engineering.
  • Experience performing simulations and analysis on electronic or RF systems.
  • Understanding of the hardware development lifecycle from requirements through testing and production.
  • Experience supporting engineering development efforts in a structured design environment.
  • Active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications
  • Defense, aerospace, or military systems experience.
  • Digital electronics design experience.
  • Firmware development experience.
  • RF simulation experience.
  • Experience working through formal engineering review processes such as PDRs and CDRs.
  • Familiarity with requirements management and systems engineering methodologies.
  • Experience supporting circuit board development and hardware integration efforts.
  • Ability to independently drive technical workstreams and proactively identify solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ideal Candidate Background
  • 3-5 years of applicable engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting RF or digital electronic products through development and testing.
  • Comfortable running simulations, analyzing results, and making engineering recommendations.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Prior experience in highly regulated engineering environments where design processes and reviews are critical to program success. Work Environment
