Job Description
Description Leidos | Gibbs and Cox is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support various programs. We are seeking a candidate to work with our engineering and production teams as we develop and produce cutting-edge solutions to challenging defense-related problems. This position reports to the Gibbs & Cox Electrical Engineering Department Manager and interfaces with the SC SDE (Surface Combatant Ship Design Engineering) Design Team.
Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop the Combat Systems Distribution (CSD) system for US Navy ship programs.
Work with vendors, PARMs, and the design team to define interfaces, power levels, and power quality for CSD supported systems.
Determine power conversion requirements, switchboard and power management systems, bus transfer requirements and dead and dark ship restoration priorities.
Work with the ship service distribution SMEs to ensure compatibility and coordination requirements between electrical distribution services.
Engineer will be the Lead or Engineering Manager for this role.
Essential responsibilities include: Performing calculations, applying electrical engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria to address technical issues identified during the design and engineering of US Navy shipsCommunicating technical principles directly to clientPerforming quality assurance reviews of simple and complex analyses, calculations, and drawingsRecording and tracking action items and meeting minutesCreating and managing meeting invitesReview change proposals to ensure they meet the necessary specifications and requirementsBasic QualificationsBS Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field and 12+ years of experience.
General knowledge of multi-disciplinary design from an integration aspect is extremely valuable, however the candidate is not expected to be the expert in these areas. They will coordinate studies and tasking with the appropriate Integrated Product Team (IPT).

U.S. Citizenship is requiredMust be able to obtain a security clearanceApplicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government.
Experience with Shipyard Production Systems, Combat Systems, shipboard medium and low voltage power systems, 60 Hz and 400Hz electrical plant, and Power Conversion is a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in standard electrical system design and analysisProficiency in standard software e.g.: CAD, AutoCAD, and Rhino. Proficiency in ETAP and other electrical modeling software is a plus.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $131,300.00
