An Electrical Controls Engineer designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
? Contribute to RDI by meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations, improving organizational efficiencies, be a team contributor/leader, and overall employee satisfaction ? Specialize in the design, programming, release, test, installation, and start-up of complete control automation systems, upgrades of control systems, and drive system replacements for new and existing RDI customers. ? Mentor engineers, lead electrical designs for assigned projects, be a lead technical resource.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Manage controls/electrical designs to deliver commitments with a focus on 100% on-time delivery to pre-defined milestones and published schedules ? Participate, refine and complete controls/electrical designs after engineering and general design review meetings ? Ensure that customer approval drawings/schematics are complete, checked, and submitted to meet the required schedule ? Release drawings, BOM's (Bills of Material) and required documents to processing to meet schedule requirements ? Interact with purchasing and vendors concerning parts ? Perform liaison function between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service for any design related issues, problems, or improvements ? Conducts controls/electrical root cause investigation, participates in solving RDI manufacturing/design issues, and implements cost reduction ideas ? Perform in-house controls testing, field installations, and start-ups ? Travel, domestic and international for installations/start-ups. Travel up to 25% of the year. ? Integrate with NPD (New Product Development) to introduce superior technology coordinating with the controls/electrical requirements of the design ? Review milestones, progress, and direction of controls/electrical portion of the projects ? Creates/maintains software, procedures, and user manuals for Key Functional, Design Validation and Production Validation tests ? Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, to provide recommend actions ? Must champion continuous improvement and quality assurance. ?
