New Carlisle, IN As an Operations Technology Engineer at Cleveland-Cliffs you will play a key role within the autonomous work teams that drive both production and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate is an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong understanding of the technical and administrative aspects of industrial manufacturing. This role involves managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple variables. You'll be responsible for developing clear, effective communications across the organization and contributing to the resolution of challenges related to assigned programs and initiatives. The New Carlisle Works facility is located in New Carlisle, Indiana, and specializes in producing cold-rolled, hot-dipped galvanized, galvannealed, and electrogalvanized steel coils. Summary of Responsibilities Adhere to prescribed safety rules and policies and leads by example. Manage technical aspects of assigned process technology projects. Seek methods or procedures that improve safety and quality while reduce costs and optimizing production efficiencies. Demonstrate proficiency with a wide range of concepts, practices and principles of process technology and associated tools and techniques used to improve the manufacturing process. Will be involved with making engineering studies, detail design, procurement, installation, acceptance testing, trouble shooting and performance audits. Assist in the development of schedules and priorities within work team to insure completion of projects according to contract specifications and commitments. Maintain effective communication with all affected stakeholders. Perform detailed technical calculations and track key variables pertaining to the manufacturing process and meet with appropriate team members to resolve any questions or issues as needed. Prepare and participate in presentations as required, to explain design changes to the manufacturing process. Write reports and document ideas and concepts for presentations using various software packages. Investigate incidents and process failures along with communicating the results of the corrective actions. Lead or assist in guiding and developing critical standards and procedures to ensure an effective manufacturing process for today, along with the capability of continuous improvement. Other job duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university is required, with at least two years of work-related experience Ability to effectively communicate across all levels or the organization Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel skills and Power Point) Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing industry experience with knowledge of OSHA safety requirements Relocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.
