Electrical Design Engineer - LI-ion Battery Management Are you passionate about advancing battery technology and driving innovation in aerospace applications? Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Lithium-ion Battery Management Systems (BMS). In this critical role, you'll be at the forefront of designing cutting-edge digital control, analog, and mixed-signal solutions for aviation batteries, impacting the future of sustainable flight and aerospace safety.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will develop and refine BMS hardware from concept through certification, working on everything from voltage sensing to cell balancing and system integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring complex hardware and embedded software solutions to life, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance in a high-stakes environment. Your expertise will contribute directly to safer, more efficient aerospace energy storage solutions.Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Minimum of 5 years experience designing lithium-ion battery management systems (BMS) Proven experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit design and PCB schematic creation Strong knowledge of cell sensing, protection, isolation, and balancing circuits for lithium batteries Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and results-driven focus Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to troubleshoot and validate hardware prototypes effectively Nice toHave Skills:
Experience designing to environmental and EMI standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810/461, orRTCA DO-311
Familiarity with LiFePO4 chemistry and battery safety standards Knowledge ofDFM & DFT
principles Experience supporting embedded microcontroller software and certification processesPreferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) 5+ years designing BMS for aviation or similar high-reliability industries Demonstrated success in product lifecycle management, from initial design to field applicationOther Requirements:
