Principal Electrical Engineer Posted on May 21, 2025 May 21, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a skilled and innovative Principal Electrical Engineer to lead and support a wide range of electrical and automation projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant operations by providing hands-on technical expertise and strategic engineering support. The ideal candidate brings both deep knowledge of electrical systems and the drive to implement solutions that deliver measurable results. Position Responsibilities Project Development & Implementation Design, implement, and manage electrical engineering projects across the plant. Prepare plans, budgets, and schedules for capital projects and electrical upgrades. Facilitate the transition of new equipment and systems from design to production. Troubleshooting & Technical Support Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production equipment and control systems. Support plant operations with technical expertise in motor control centers, PLC systems, and electrical distribution. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with maintenance, production, procurement, and external vendors to support engineering goals. Coordinate changes using internal change management systems and cross-discipline cooperation. Documentation & Compliance Maintain engineering documentation, CAD files, and project records. Support EH&S initiatives by reporting incidents and ensuring adherence to waste management and safety protocols. Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 3-5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and electrical system design. Strong communication and project management skills. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) Professional Engineer (PE) license Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Certification OSHA Safety Certification What the Role Offers Competitive salary range of $130,000-$140,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.
