Manager, Electrical Engineering Oceaneering - 3.8 Hanover, MD Job Details Full-time $138,300 - $207,500 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Paid parental leave Health insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Parental leave Employee assistance program Qualifications Electrical engineering training Project stakeholder communication Full Job Description The Electrical Engineering Deputy works with the EE functional manager to lead a team of electrical engineers and technical professionals, setting priorities, supporting project execution, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment. In partnership with cross-functional departments - including mechanical/software/systems engineers, operations, manufacturing, project management, and quality - the Electrical Engineering Deputy supports organizational goals by providing expert technical guidance, resolving complex engineering challenges, and aligning resources with project demands. BS Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline. Commensurate experience will be considered. 15+ years of practical experience supporting electrical engineering needs for hardware-based products from an engineering and/or management perspective. Experience supporting government programs. Experience mentoring electrical engineers. Solid written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively document, convey, and present engineering issues to team members and customers. Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government Department of Defense Security Clearance. Must be a US citizen. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with robotic or underwater systems. Experience using Altium Designer and/or SolidWorks Electrical. Experience training electrical engineers in leadership. Compensation $138,300.00 - 207,500.00 Develop and help implement internal policies and procedures for the EE group. Monitor the quality of electrical work products and proactively address areas of concern. Contribute to policies and procedures external to the group (such as corporate electrical engineering standards, processes and quality). Functionally manage junior EE members (0-6 years of experience). Participate in EE hiring and resource allocation. Evaluate and help purchase software licenses, training credits and test equipment. Work with corporate IT to address issues and craft implementation for new capabilities/practices. Interface with other Oceaneering business units to ensure OTECH is following company procedures and best practices. Participate in the development and maintenance of SharePoint pages for electrical engineers. Review proposal efforts including Statements of Work (SoW)/Performance Work Statements (PWS), Basis of Estimates (BoE) and Rough Orders of Magnitude (ROM). Evaluate engineering opportunities and provide go/no go assessments. Assess work progress by participating in events such as design reviews or Monthly Increment Program Reviews. Work with engineering leads and program managers to proactively find and address problems. Run the EE Weekly meeting when the EE Manager is out of office. Review progress and evaluate results of work accomplished by self and others. Prepare reports and present results to management and client. Demonstrate ability to devise innovative solutions to problems when conventional solutions are insufficient. Support occasional travel needs.
