Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design reviews and provide technical direction throughout project execution.

  • Design and implement communication interfaces including Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the team.
  • Support hands-on assembly, integration, validation, and field testing activities.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable engineering, safety, and industry standards.
    Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and developing complex electrical, electromechanical, automated, or robotic systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Experience with electrical system design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of DC power systems, power distribution, and energy requirement calculations.
  • Experience designing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and system block diagrams.
  • Knowledge of EMI mitigation, grounding, shielding, wiring, and cabling best practices.
  • Experience integrating COTS hardware, embedded controllers, sensors, actuators, and single-board computer platforms.
  • Proficiency using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and communication analyzers.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as Altium Designer, AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, SPICE, MATLAB, or MathCAD.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with underwater systems, marine robotics, ROVs, AUVs, sonar systems, or defense-related technologies.
  • PCB design experience and familiarity with fiber optic systems.
  • Experience with brushless motor drives, automation systems, and closed-loop control systems.
  • Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, IEC, ISO, NEC, NEMA, MIL-STD, and other applicable engineering standards.
  • Programming or scripting experience supporting system development and testing.

  • On-Site
  • Occasional travel required, including domestic, international, offshore, and field test support assignments (typically 1-2 weeks at a time).
