The Controls Engineer LV1 will learn various aspects of engineering work in the design and startup of PLC controlled systems for material handling equipment. A Controls Engineer LV1 is expected to contribute to a project in a minimal level while learning best practices and industry standards.
Experience:
Has a basic engineering and programming foundation. Expected to spend majority of time learning about different types of hardware/software that are used in the industry.
Job Expectations:
To develop skills in their field of study, and the ability to work with some degree of independence.
Responsibilities :
Learn, Design, test, document and sustain hardware and software control systems in the role of Controls Engineer LV1 to support various conveyor systems and technologies. Contribute to projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic programing/ electrical design skills knowledge preferred. Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out instructed tasks. Detail and quality oriented. Must be comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation including blueprints, construction specifications and other items. Strong communication skills. Experience with collaborating with project team members to define and deliver maintainable and reliable systems. Ability to work under deadlines, on short notice and support extended/off-hours when needed to support project or resolve engineering issues. Proficiency in MsOffice (Outlook, WORD, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university. Experience with industrial control systems with various HMIs. Experience in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning. Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation technology, including hardware, software, and communication protocols. Experience with using Relays for controls technology. Understanding of LOTO and how to create various placards. AUTOCAD skills, able to read schematic and assembly drawings. Experience with Eplan. Identify faults and troubleshoot to find root cause. Proficient with written and verbal technical communication including generating reports and conducting group presentations. Panel Design experience including layout and wiring schematic development GM training certificates: GCCH, GCCS, Ethernet Networks
