Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our facilities and engineering operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing the maintenance, repair, and management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our properties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of all engineering functions. As a key member of our management team, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold the highest safety standards to create a secure and well-maintained environment for all staff and visitors. Duties Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams to ensure the effective operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Develop and implement maintenance repair procedures aligned with safety regulations and industry best practices. Manage facilities maintenance management software (CMMS) to track work orders, asset histories, and preventive maintenance schedules. Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and routine servicing of mechanical systems including HVAC units, electrical systems, plumbing infrastructure, and industrial machinery. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety regulations through regular inspections, safety training sessions, and documentation. Coordinate project management activities for large-scale repairs or upgrades involving schematics interpretation, engineering troubleshooting, and resource allocation. Manage facilities maintenance budgets, procurement processes for parts and equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, low voltage tools, and other diagnostic instruments. Monitor building systems using technical schematics to diagnose issues swiftly while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency. Lead emergency response efforts related to mechanical or electrical failures to minimize downtime and ensure personnel safety. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing maintenance data to optimize procedures and reduce downtime. Skills Proven management experience leading facilities or engineering teams with strong supervisory skills. Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, and mechanical systems repair. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations along with experience implementing safety protocols in industrial environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, planning, and communication purposes. Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices including CMMS software utilization for work order tracking. Ability to interpret schematics related to electrical wiring diagrams, HVAC layouts, plumbing schematics, and mechanical drawings. Skilled in troubleshooting engineering issues using tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters while working with low voltage systems safely. Excellent project management capabilities with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within budget constraints. Effective leadership qualities with the ability to supervise teams while promoting a culture of safety compliance and operational excellence. Fluency in English for clear communication across diverse teams; additional language skills are a plus but not required.
