The Facilities Electrical Engineer will be responsible for assisting in, analysis, maintenance, and improvement of electrical distribution systems, including high voltage networks, substations, power monitoring systems, and related facilities infrastructure. This role supports the reliable and safe operation of electrical systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute to projects under guidance from senior engineers.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the repair, testing, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, including substations, transformers, harmonic system, VFD drives, and controls systems.
- Conduct inspections of electrical equipment and systems to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for electrical distribution systems.
- Participate in troubleshooting electrical system issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.
- Support the commissioning of new electrical equipment and upgrades to existing systems.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing data to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems, including drawings, reports, and maintenance logs.
- Work with cross-functional teams and contractors to support electrical infrastructure projects.
- Stay informed about electrical safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA, NFPA).
- Contribute to the development of proposals for electrical system upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
Work Hours:
- Standard Hours (Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm)
- 24/7 production plant.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years' experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or distribution systems.
Required Skills:
- Foundational knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power engineering principles.
- Familiarity with electrical design software (e.
CAD, ETAP
) and willingness to learn.- Basic understanding of electrical safety regulations and standards, including NFPA 70E, OSHA and NEC.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
Desired Skills:
- Exposure and understanding of medium voltage systems, substations, or power distribution networks through coursework and in the field experience.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and sustainable engineering concepts.
- Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and SCADA systems is a plus.
- Experience with electrical system modeling and simulation tools.
- Understanding of project management fundamentals.
- Willingness to learn and gain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
