Job Description

Controls Engineer Salary:
$75,000-$125,000 (depending on experience) Design Machines. Solve Problems. See Your Work Come to Life. At Pioneer Systems , we design and build custom material handling systems for manufacturers across North America and around the world. Every project is different, which means you'll tackle new engineering challenges instead of working on the same machine over and over again. As a Controls Engineer , you'll play a key role from concept through startup—designing electrical control systems, programming PLCs, supporting machine builds, and helping customers bring new equipment online. If you enjoy combining electrical design, automation, and hands-on problem solving, you'll fit right in. Because we're a growing, veteran-owned company, your ideas won't get buried in layers of management. You'll work closely with engineering, assembly, and leadership to develop innovative solutions that make a real impact for our customers. What You'll Do Design electrical control systems for custom industrial equipment. Create electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and panel layouts. Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems. Specify and integrate safety devices and machine safety systems. Ensure designs comply with
UL 508A, NEC, NFPA
79, OSHA, and other applicable standards. Collaborate with sales, mechanical engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and service teams throughout each project. Support equipment startup, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Help standardize designs and identify smarter, more efficient engineering solutions. Contribute to a culture focused on quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service. What We're Looking For Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience designing industrial control systems and electrical schematics. PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms preferred). Understanding of industrial electrical systems, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Knowledge of machine safety standards and industrial electrical codes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Why Join Pioneer Systems? Occasional travel (approximately 5%) may be required for equipment startup or customer support. Applicants should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
