Position Summary Sunberry Paw Paw Beverages Limited LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Plant Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations within our beverage production facility. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring regular interaction with production equipment, maintenance personnel, and plant operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing plant equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, including PLC programming and troubleshooting , and have experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment. The Plant Engineer will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Management teams to improve equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Diagnose and resolve equipment, electrical, mechanical, and automation issues. Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC-controlled systems and production equipment. Lead and support preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Manage equipment upgrades, installations, and capital improvement projects. Analyze equipment performance and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reliability. Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate engineering, maintenance, and project documentation. Ensure compliance with all GMP, SQF, food safety, quality, environmental, and workplace safety requirements. Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for equipment failures. Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Work with equipment vendors and contractors as needed. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (engineering discipline or concentration). Experience Minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering, maintenance, automation, manufacturing, or related industrial environments. Experience in food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing strongly preferred. Required Skills Strong PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation experience. Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Experience with industrial controls, sensors, motors, drives, and control panels. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems. Excellent communication and project management abilities. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and access equipment throughout the facility. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to respond to production and maintenance issues in a timely manner.
