Job Description
Responsible for the development of electric machines for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, including the detailed engineering design and application of electric motors for propulsion. Develop new, or modify existing, products as well as internal products, following the defined product concept for our eDrive products. Responsible for all North American eDrive Systems electric machines design and applications for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. Responsible for the engineering design, development, analysis, and testing of electric motors for electric traction drives (voltage < 1000V, current < 900A) for eDrive applications. Perform analysis, simulation and implementation of customer requirements (load specifications) as well as normative specifications. Definition and coordination of the motor architecture, motor sensors and connection technology (e.g. phase connections). Coordination of technical interfaces for eMotor components. Creation of requirements and architecture specification for the electric motor development taking specifications into account. Definition of requirements and creation of specification sheets for eMotor components. Coordination of technical requirements for eMotor components with suppliers. Support project manager and program team with regard to eMotor application (including eMotor specifics within new business quotations). Work closely with customers and partners for all aspects of eMotor vehicle application and testing. Collaborate with system development, electronics development, construction, testing, suppliers and scientific institutes. Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce cost. Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.
