Since 2014, we have provided electrical engineering, power systems, automation, controls, commissioning, and engineered solutions for industrial clients throughout the United States. Our engineers are involved from project concept through design, construction, commissioning, and startup. This provides broad technical exposure, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to see projects through from beginning to end. Position Overview SPA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our growing portfolio of industrial electrical, power systems, and automation projects. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience. Industrial electrical engineering experience is preferred, but we are also interested in motivated engineers with a strong technical foundation and a desire to grow into larger technical and project leadership responsibilities. Depending on experience, this role may include electrical design, calculations, field investigations, commissioning, client coordination, project execution, and technical leadership. FE/EIT certification is strongly preferred for developing engineers. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly valued, and experienced PE candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Develop electrical design packages for industrial facilities and infrastructure projects. Prepare and review drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents. Support electrical power distribution, motor control, grounding, controls, and related systems. Perform field investigations, site assessments, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting. Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams. Support equipment procurement and construction activities. Assist with project scope, schedule, budget, and technical execution. Apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and client requirements. Take on increasing technical and project responsibility based on experience. Experienced candidates may also serve as lead engineer or project engineer, manage client relationships, mentor junior staff, and seal engineering documents where permitted by licensure. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals. Good technical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a project team. Willingness to travel periodically for field work, commissioning, and project support. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is beneficial: Industrial electrical engineering Power distribution and power system studies Motor control and protective relaying Industrial automation, PLCs, and control systems Electrical commissioning and field troubleshooting AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar software Project engineering or project management Oil & Gas, energy, utilities, mining, manufacturing, or municipal infrastructure
NFPA 70, NFPA
70E, NESC, IEEE, and related standards Licensure FE/EIT certification is strongly preferred. PE licensure is highly desirable for experienced candidates.
