As an Electrical Engineer at Widseth, you'll work on diverse building projects, collaborate with talented professionals across disciplines, and see your designs become reality from initial concept through construction. We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex building design challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering practical solutions that make a lasting impact. Whether you're developing power distribution systems, designing energy-efficient lighting, or coordinating with architects and clients, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects. At Widseth, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, build strong client relationships, and help create spaces that strengthen our communities. What You'll Do Design electrical systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and public-sector building projects Develop construction documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and reports Perform power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system design Coordinate designs with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations Collaborate with project managers to deliver projects on schedule and within budget Apply applicable codes and standards to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant designs Assist with project proposals, client meetings, and technical presentations Provide guidance and support to junior engineering staff and EITs What You Bring Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to obtain licensure in North Dakota within six months 7+ years of experience designing electrical building systems (adjust years as appropriate) Experience with commercial, institutional, industrial, or municipal building projects Proficiency with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, or similar tools Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IBC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment Excellent communication and client service skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed What We Offer Real Career Growth Continued education, licensure support, and advanced technical training.
