Overview The Operating Engineer is responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a large office/life science building, working as part of a team to ensure optimal building performance and safety. Responsibilities Complete tasks such as painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC servicing, water treatment, locksmith work, and general repairs within licensing permissions Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program Maintain work order system and complete tenant service requests Support training and supervision to enhance team capabilities Respond to on-call or emergency situations as needed Troubleshoot electrical, control, pneumatic, and other building systems Follow safety procedures and participate in ongoing technical training Perform other assigned tasks and projects Qualifications 5-10 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry Trade school education, union training, military service, or college preferred Universal CFC EPA certification or willingness to obtain within the first year Leadership or supervisory experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and operate a vehicle Strong customer service skills #ind123 We thank all applicants for their interest.
